Eighth of twelve, south-southwest, late summer, with Earth as its element. Late summer is the season of tending rather than growing — the harvest is coming and nothing is served by forcing it. Earth here is the element of holding and feeding rather than founding. A community placed just past the peak is responsible for everything the peak produced, which is a quieter job than making it and a harder one to do badly without anyone noticing.
