What Leadership measures

Leadership here measures pressure tolerance and the weight a person's word carries, which is not the same thing as rank and does not require anybody to be in charge. The stars that feed it are the commanding avatars, and they are heavily concentrated in the Inner Persona palace — the chart reads leadership as something a person is rather than a position they hold, so a high score in someone with no title is a common and perfectly coherent result. What the axis does not measure is whether that weight is welcome. It counts the capacity to absorb pressure and direct others, not the judgement to do it well, and the two come apart often enough that the highest readings in this catalogue are also the ones most likely to be attached to a hazard elsewhere in the chart.

Vessel Stats are one of the four readings Bond Level 2 unlocks. They are scored from a full birth chart, so the hour, day and month all matter — a birth year on its own produces no chart and therefore no scores.

The five Leadership bands

ExceptionalRank S85 and above

The chart has spent heavily here. Authority tends to be assumed rather than granted, and rooms reorganise around this person without anyone deciding to let them. The cost is that it happens whether or not it was wanted, and charts this tall on one axis are visibly shorter elsewhere.

StrongRank A70–84

Weight lands when this person speaks, reliably and without much effort. Strong enough to lead and not so tall that it crowds out the rest of the chart, which makes this the most usable band on the axis rather than the second best.

BalancedRank B55–69

Capable of carrying authority when it is handed over and content without it. The chart neither pushes this person forward nor holds them back, so what happens here is mostly decided by circumstance and appetite rather than by the reading.

DevelopingRank C40–54

Pressure is felt more than it is absorbed, and sustained command is expensive. This is a common reading and rarely the interesting part of a chart — the question it raises is which axis the budget went to instead.

ChallengingRank D0–39

The chart put its weight elsewhere. Prolonged pressure and adversarial rooms cost this person disproportionately, which is worth planning around rather than pushing through. Nothing here says a person cannot lead; it says leading is not the cheap thing for them.

The band widths are the same for all six axes, so a reading is comparable across them.

What raises Leadership

Every star carries a weight for this axis, and where it lands multiplies that weight again. The third column is the part a radar chart cannot show: what else the same star pulls on, and therefore what a chart built for Leadership tends to be spending.

Where a star has to land to count

The same star is worth far more in one palace than another. These are the multipliers for Leadership — a star outside all of them still counts, at a fraction of its weight.

PalaceMultiplier
Inner Persona×1.0
Career×0.8
Outer Persona×0.5
Wealth×0.4

Rank multiplies everything on top of that: an S-rank placement scores 12 where a C scores 1 and a D subtracts 3.

Pairs that lift Leadership

Some contributions exist only when two specific stars appear together, which means a chart can be quietly strong here in a way no single placement reveals.

The other five axes

The six are normalised against a shared budget, so they are read against each other rather than on an absolute scale. A tall reading on one is paid for by a shorter one elsewhere.

  • Fortune— Capacity to attract resources, manage assets, and retain earnings.
  • Intellect— Capacity for learning, planning, analysis, and problem-solving.
  • Charisma— Diplomacy, attraction, negotiation skills, and popularity.
  • Health— Physical resilience, recovery speed, and mental stamina.
  • Resilience— Willpower, adversity endurance, and ability to recover from setbacks.

Frequently asked

What is Leadership in a birth chart?
Ability to withstand pressure, command authority, and influence others.
What raises Leadership?
42 of the catalogue's stars carry weight for it, led by Power Seed, Ringmaster, Crimson Lord. Where the star lands matters as much as which star it is: a placement in Inner Persona counts for full weight, and rank multiplies everything — an S-rank placement is worth 12 where a C is worth 1, and 1 star pulls the other way.
Can every stat be high at once?
No, and that is deliberate. The six are normalised against a fixed budget, so they are read against each other rather than on an absolute scale — a chart strong everywhere would say nothing. 42 of the stars feeding Leadership also feed another axis, so a chart built for this one is usually visibly shaped, not evenly filled.
What do the Leadership bands mean?
Exceptional (S) from 85 up; Strong (A) from 70 to 84; Balanced (B) from 55 to 69; Developing (C) from 40 to 54; Challenging (D) from 0 to 39. The five bands are the same widths for all six axes, so a reading is comparable across them.

A single axis is one sixth of the picture. The board scores all six from a birth date and draws the shape they make together.
